Crackling audio on external stereo speakers

Hi everyone, I’ve just bought a new monitor, the macbook is connected to the monitor via usb c and I have my studio speakers connected to the monitor with a traditional 3.5 mm jack but everytime I play something I can hear crackling/static audio. I’ve already tried connecting the mbp with an hdmi but same problem. No issue at all with my desktop connected via display port, and my ps4 connected via hdmi. What may I try to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, matteocasetta94,

If we understand your post correctly, you have an external monitor connected to your MacBook and external speakers connected to the monitor. The speakers are crackling when you play sound from your MacBook. We’d like to help.

Let's try some additional troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue. Does the crackling occur when you use the built-in speakers on your MacBook? Does it happen if you use the speakers with your MacBook without going through the monitor?

The settings in this guide may also help you with this issue: Change the sound output settings on Mac - Apple Support

Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.
