I get a message in mac mail with a link. how do I automatically open the link in firefox instead of safari

That ended after I upgraded to Sonoma 14.0. Now it insists on opening the browser (Safari) in the foreground as if the Command key was never pressed, requiring a lot of back-and-forth between the two. I realize that a right-click on a link will offer you choices of things you want to happen, but if you're used to working in a speedy way, having to click, then drag while trying to aim for one of the choices feels slow after the way I'd been doing it. I hope it wasn't eliminated.

how can I stop pasting URL from safari to mail being changed into an image When I copy a URL from safari address bar and paste it into an email it is changed into a image with a link in some cases. For example https://discuss.python.org/ will do this when pasted, but not if I type it into an email. How do I turn off this behaviour?

You can right click on the link and it should show you Open With with Safari as default and other browsers as options.
