Backups - iPhone & MAC

I want to backup my iPhone to my MacBook Pro once a week or so AND I also want to back the iPhone up to the cloud daily. I have enough space everywhere. There is a checkbox in finder where you choose but it seems to be one or the other.

So, sow exactly do I make that happen?

Backing up to your Mac as described here:

will not affect you automatic daily backups to iCloud when your iPhone is charging as described in the 'Automatically back up with iCloud Backup' section of:

The checkbox in the Finder is only for that one-time backup to the Mac (or iCloud).

You will have to manually change the checkbox on the Mac when you want to change back up methods between iCloud and your Mac.

Set up the phone to back up to iCloud and backups will occur automatically every 24 hours if the phone is connected to the charger. Or you can choose Back Up Now manually from the iPhone.

When you want to back up the phone to the Mac, you will have to select the check box on the Mac to do so. After the backup has run, then select the check box for iCloud backups again.
