iMac 27" crash, unable to access hard drive or back up

my 27" iMac crashed, have reloaded macOS Catalina but had to use My Passport for Mac as a start up disk. I am unable to access the internal hard drive (Fusion drive 3.12TB) or the external OWC Elite Pro backup drive. It has 1.55GB available space to 2TB. Regardless what I do it tells me "can't open because in Time Machine Backup". I can't access Time Machine because it also says the same "in Time Machine Backup". Any suggestions ?? thanks mike

When you return, please provide us with the exact model of your iMac and what version of macOS is it currently running. Your tagline says: 10.12 ... which would make it macOS Sierra. Is that correct? ... and since it has a Fusion drive, would this be a Late 2012 iMac?

Try and boot your Mac. Press cmd+R when booting.

Try and open disk utility in the recovery screen and run disk first aid on your internal disks. If the internal disks are unmounted, try to mount them
