Removing previously installed apps from Account

From time to time, I like to try out various Apps and see if they suit my needs, and when they don't I simply delete them off my iPhone. However within the AppStore, they are now shown with a little Cloud symbol alongside the name, is this biting into my Cloud Storage allowance ? How can I complete disassociate apps from my account - such that there's no indication of having ever downloaded it before ?

iPhone XR, iOS 15

Thank you Idris, do you know why we can't delete prior purchase information ?

The short answer is because that's the way Apple has set things up. The longer answer is probably related to things like the fact that the purchase (and yes, "$0.00" is still a purchase price) records are Apple's. And things like you cant call American Express and tell them that, since you returned the DVD purchase of "Debbie and the Dallas Cowboys", you want them to remove it from your purchase records.

Imagine before being married, you downloaded a dating application... then years later your Partner is looking through your apps and notices that you had installed "Tinder" or something on your account... that would lead to an... interesting discussion, and potential suspicions.

Personally, I would never date or marry someone who didn't recognize that, as an adult, I'd had a life before I met them. Some of that life might have involved dating (how else would I have met them????) and some of it involved way too much time spent on very stupid games. Also, I keep my phone locked. Personal privacy doesn't end when one partners up.

The only way around this, would be create a new account every so often, but then how would you transfer "Paid for" application purchases from one account to another ?

You cannot. Purchases are forever tied to the account of original purchase.

But, the bottom line is that no one here can completely answer any questions about "why" Apple does or doesn't do something. And, they don't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can let them know your thoughts here:

I'm really only concerned about the "Free" apps - lingering around, "Paid for ones" are generally carefully chosen, and researched before purchasing, and are intentional - so, yes, keeping them around is important.

That of course, is an extreme example, but there's other situations in which amassing a history of everything that you've ever downloaded is troubling - it's akin to the Orwellian view of "Big Brother is watching you", extreme profiling of you as an individual, surely someone must have flagged this before ? If so, do you know what the response was ?

Apps that have been "Hidden" can be "un-Hidden" afterwards too...
