New Mac migration issue (conflicts detected)

recently I got a new 2021 14 inch MacBook Pro and I’m transferring from my old MacBook Pro 13 inch early 2015.

I’m trying to use migration but it keeps stopping around the ‘Transferred 2500 files’ Both macs are up to date (12.4) both are connected to power, both are connected to the same internet. I have tried 3 separate times (first time 30 minuets, 2nd and 3rd time both over an hour) (fyi: I have 230Gb to transfer)

in the ‘select the information to transfer’ I deselected all except library ( which you can’t) so it seems the conflict is in there. How can I resolve this?

I prefer to create a backup and migrate files from it. Both Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner backups will work; no idea about SuperDuper! or any other.

I just prefer not to do a Mac to Mac. Although it shouldn't make a difference, it seems to me the backup migration is better.

Do you think there might be a problem with your backup drive? I've used the Migration Assistant a number of times and never had an issue with it.
