.mac/.me/.icloud outgoing mail marked as spam from my MacBook Pro

In the past week, my family, friends and business associates have reported that emails from my .mac address now go into their spam folder. But it's only emails sent from my MacBook Pro. I've tested this several ways:

  • Send from .me or .icloud instead of .mac (marked as spam)
  • Send to my own .mac address (marked as spam)
  • Send from a different external IP address by using my iPhone hotspot (marked as spam)

It's only .mac addresses

  • Send from my comcast address (NOT marked as spam)
  • Send from a different personal address (NOT marked as spam)

And these are the interesting ones

  • Send from Mail app on my iPhone (NOT marked as spam)
  • Send from iCloud.com (NOT marked as spam)

So there's something on my MBPro that marks .mac mail as spam

Some old maybe grandfathered in domain names <.mac/.me/>

Apple makes a note...

*If you use a non-iCloud SMTP server, don't use your iCloud email address as a "Send From" address. Otherwise, your email might not deliver or it might deliver to the recipient's Junk folder.

See "If your recipient doesn't receive your message"

If no insight or resolve i would advise disabling any and all these new features and compare your results:

Open mail app select Mail>Preferences>Privacy ...disable

• “Protect Mail Activity” /

• “Hide IP address” /

• “Block all remote content”
