Apple Watch connection to Verizon Cellular Service

New Cellular Apple 7 Watch won’t connect to new Apple 13 phone on Verizon Network. I’ve been working with Verizon IT & Network technical support since Jan. 2022. Not able to make a cellular connection when Watch is moved away from the Phone.

Apple Repair Dept had Watch twice. Returned with note”can’t duplicate issue”.

Hi marguerite29,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities! In order to set up cellular service on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:

  1. "On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
  2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Cellular.
  3. Tap Set Up Cellular.
  4. Follow the instructions for your carrier. You might need to contact your carrier for help."

Find more details and information on using cellular on your Apple Watch here: Set up cellular on Apple Watch.

If you've already followed those steps to get it set up and you're still unable to use the network, make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are both running the latest software versions.

You also may need to update your carrier settings: Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad.

Should you continue to experience this issue after performing the above steps, contact Apple Support for further assistance.

Cheers!

I’ve tried that several times. I’m not sure why the Watch doesn’t connect to Verizon.

Was it ever used on another cellular network? A while back, Verizon had problems activating any watch that had previously been activated on another network (e.g. AT&T). I haven't heard people complaining about the problem recently but it may still exist. If that's the case, as I recall, there's nothing to be done but get a different watch.

I bought the Watch and iPhone new from Verizon. Initially set it up while in NJ but I didn’t test the Cellular connection on the Watch. I returned to Florida and realized the watch didn’t function as a cellular Watch.

Apple had it and can’t duplicate the problem. Verizon Rep tells me they’ll supply a new replacement but the order never goes thru. Verizon places a Ticket for IT Networking repair but I never get a response from them. This has been since February 2022 less than 30 days after purchase. How do I get a Replacement?

I’m waiting for a response from the Store Manager. He escalated my case to a Senior Representative on the phone. I talked with that rep. on Saturday and he made a “promise” to forward an email with the shipping details for a delivery on Tues. I never received that confirmation. It’s been a circus. The store rep and other Verizon staff can see all the details of notes on my account.

Do you know how I’d get someone to be responsible for the replacement Watch?
