Multiple MP3 music files on CD - Play stops at end of each file

MacOS Catalina 27"

I have a CD that has multiple MP3 music files on it.

When I load the CD and play it from the CD drive using iTunes they won't play automatically one after the other. Play stops at the end of each track and I have to start the each next track manually.

How can I get iTunes to play the tracks continuously one after the other.

Music (not iTunes in Catalina) will only play content that has been added to the library. Playing content through Finder is an instructions to add the single file to Music and play it. Depending on the location and the option to copy files to your media folder repeatedly playing the same file from a location outside your media folder can create duplicate items. In the case of your MP3 CD you should select the tracks on the CD, copy them, then browse to the Automatically Add to Music folder in your media folder and paste. Or you can use File > Add to Library, and select the MP3 CD. Once the tracks are in your library you can play them as you see fit and should get track to track playback.

Thanks for your reply. I played the MP3 CD yesterday no probs. It was only today when I tried to play it that I got single file playing. Can't recall what method I used yesterday.

I was trying to avoid copying the CD contents to Music (sorry not iTunes!) and clogging up my HDD.

Funnily enough, whilst rummaging around the file structures based on your suggestions, I came across the Device List in Music sidebar where the CD was listed. I found that if I play it from there it plays continuously.

Not sure what's going on but my problem is solved.

Many thanks
