Can Videos Captured by iPhone be Edited (Trimmed) on Mac

Hi.

I have a couple of videos that I captured using my iPhone and they are available to me on my MBP via the cloud. I want to trim the videos a bit because they are too long to be posted on YouTube. This article appears to say that it can be done but the instructions aren't exactly valid on a Mac. Very specifically, when I hover over the Actions button (or click on it) I am presented with a few things that I can choose from, and Trim is disabled.

Anyone knows how it can be enabled? Is there another software that I can use for simple video editing?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately Quicktime Player's editing features are disabled, which is the main problem.

For anyone else passing by: apparently the version 10 of Mac OS does not run some of the apps the way it used to.
