Why Can't I trim my Videos using Mac Photos App? The option to trim is greyed out.

video cropping no longer allowed I frequently crop videos in Apple Photos. Now that option no longer seems to be available on videos but is still available for photos. I run High Sierra 10.13.6. Does anyone have a suggestion for this fix?

Trimming videos using Apple’s photo app According to Apple’s help documents I should be able to trim my videos straight away in the photos app. According to the help doc This is done by pressing Edit and dragging the left and/or right ends of the video clip inward. This works fine for trimming the right side (tail end of video clip). However, I am unable to drag the left side so as to trim off some portion of the beginning of the video clip. I have an iPhoneXS and all my apps OS is up to date.

Can Videos Captured by iPhone be Edited (Trimmed) on Mac Hi. I have a couple of videos that I captured using my iPhone and they are available to me on my MBP via the cloud. I want to trim the videos a bit because they are too long to be posted on YouTube. This article appears to say that it can be done but the instructions aren't exactly valid on a Mac. Very specifically, when I hover over the Actions button (or click on it) I am presented with a few things that I can choose from, and Trim is disabled. Anyone knows how it can be enabled? Is there another software that I can use for simple video editing? Thanks in advance

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)

macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7

Videos were taken on a iPhone 12 Pro

Photos App: Version 5.0 (161.0.120)

My mac and photos app are as up to date as can be for my hardware.

What version of Mac/MacOS do you have.

What device are the videos from? Have they been taken with HDR enabled on an iPhone 12 or 13 for example.
