Cannot add credit card to Apple Watch

I have two credit cards in the wallet on my iPhone 13. When I try to add them to my new Apple Watch SE I get an error “could not setup Apple Pay

Let's team up to get Apple Pay working smoothly.

As it was unclear, did you already try all of the steps in the article above your post?

Here's the link again just in case: If you can't add a card to Apple Wallet to use with Apple Pay

Keep in mind that one of the last steps would be to contact your bank or card issuer.

Yes I tried all the steps. Apple Support have assisted me to sort out the debit card no syncing. It seems to have been caused by a numeric being included in the iPhone name!

I still have an issue that no Store/Rewards cards are syncing between the iPhone and the Apple Watch. We are still working on that but I suspect it may be caused by the latest updates

My watch and iPhone updated today 12 Feb and these updates have resolved the problem
