frequency of auto iPhone backups?

If I have my iPhone automatically back up to iCloud, HOW OFTEN does it happen? Is it, like, realtime? Or once a day? Or what? If I put something important on my phone, should I get in there and do a manual backup right away?

Automatic backup to iCloud takes place overnight, everynight.

Obviously, if you put something very important on your device, I would create a manual backup immediately.

Thanks. That's precisely what I wanted to know.

In the meantime, I found this

So it happens once every 24 hours IF automatic backup is enabled, device is powered up, on wifi, the screen is off, and connected to a power source. So that pretty much means it'll happen overnight, every night. Unless you happen to do a manual backup in the daytime.
