transitions in imovie

I created a folder of pictures from my photos on my MacBook Air. The folder is now on my desktop screen.

I opened Imovie and dragged them to make a movie.

I cannot get it to stop the transition of zooming in and out and in some going up and down. They automatically started doing that before I started adding any transitions. Even if I add a transition it still zooms in and out and goes up and down. SO ANNOYING

How do I get that to stop?

Thanks

The zooming is happening because you have the Ken Burns option selected in iMovie/Preferences.

Change the Photo Placement default in preferences to "Fit" and the zooming will be eliminated for any clips added after you have made the change. For clips that were added before the change, you will need to select them and then click on the crop icon (the one that looks like intersecting angles) in the tool bar at the upper right of your screen. In the options box that appears, change Ken Burns to Fit, and then click on the blue reset button to the right.
