Hi there,
I frequently need to offload big video files from my iPhone to my File server that my Mac is connected to.
Using Airdrop takes very long and I have to activate Wifi on my Mac because of our wired 10Gb Ethernet network.
Is there another way? I read that you can connect the phone directly to your mac via USB cable but how do you copy files without importing them into the photos app?

Apple support do have an article online that gives guidance on this,
however,
unless using iCloud, it is to the Mac Photos app, or to a PC., that the videos are imported via USB:
AND
There are various other ways (listed at the bottom of the article), that may suit your purpose.

It worked using Apple's Image Capture app.
