AirPods issue - after my last upgrade to my iPad and iPhone, my AirPods won’t connect after I’ve got off or shut down my phone or iPad. They used to be able to switch from phone to phone or phone to iPad. After I reconnected them last only one time and they will not connect anymore. I have to forget the device and reconnect them and then again just one time. Anybody else having this problem?

So my issue is not connecting my issue is staying connected. Before my AirPods would be ready and available once I put them in my ear. Now I have to re-sync them every time. This only started happening with my last software upgrade on my iPhone and iPad. Any suggestions?

Thanks for those additional details.
If your AirPods are disconnecting once paired to your device and attempting to use them, test to see if the issue persists with another Bluetooth accessory.
Also, head to Settings > Bluetooth on your devices, and toggle this off and back on.
Should the issue persist, restart both devices, and test again.

OK I’ve tried the toggling back-and-forth and my device sees my AirPods. It even shows the battery life. But when I try to use them it will not connect it says my AirPods are not in range and are not connected. But I can still open them up and see the battery life on my device of my AirPods.
