Apple Watch Doubling Up on distance walked

I have read all the questions and answers to whether Apple Watch is recording information twice together with iPhone. I noticed yesterday that Health Data was doubling up on distance when I was walking from and to places where I already knew the distance. Today I have walked from my car in a straight line. My Health data said that I had walked .5 miles but Maps shows my Parked car is only .25 miles away. So how can this situation be resolved please?
