Can't find SOFTWARE UPDATE in my SYSTEM SETTING...

I would like to update my OS into the latest version, however, I just can't find such an option in my system setting...

Hello, Observer_ed.


Software Update didn't arrive on macOS System Preferences until 10.14 Mojave.

Previous to that you have to click on the App Store app, and select Updates in the sidebar on the left.

Software Update only updates the currently running macOS software version - High Sierra 10.1 to 10.2 or 10.6 for example.


If you are hoping to upgrade your macOS to the next big thing, like from High Sierra 10.13 to Mojave 10.14, then:

The macOS version you can upgrade to depends on the model and year of your Mac.

Click the  (Apple) menu at the top left of your screen and choose About This Mac

❗️ – IMPORTANT – Your 32-bit apps won’t work in Catalina or Big Sur.
