First, let's confirm something. Did you purchase your iPhone 12 Pro max from China mainland, Hong Kong or Macao? I ask because ONLY the iPhone 12 Pro Max model sold in those regions feature Dual SIM with two nano-SIM cards. The rest of the world gets an iPhone 12 Pro Max with DUAL Sims, however it consists of only one physical SIM card and one eSIM. For example, if you are trying to fit two nano SIM Cards in a model made for the US then there is no way you can fit two SIM cards into the SIM card tray.
