New IPad

I set up my husbands new IPad for him. In messages it has my IPhone number and I would like to change it to his. How do I do this without impacting our other Apple devices?

Does he have his own Apple ID? If not, he needs one. Ideally, you would reset the iPad and remove it from your ID, then set it up with his ID.
