hi, I’m thinking of getting an Apple Watch 6 series cellular.
if I purchased from Apple, what do I do next to sync with my phone but be able to use it without my phone?
i.e. do I need to take a separate contract out with ee (who I am with)? I can’t seem to find any info on their website other than getting the watch from them... which then I guess everything would be all in with them once a month?
just seems cheaper to just buy direct Apple.

What happens is you pay an extra monthly fee on your existing phone contract, the watch uses your existing phone number to make calls.In the US it's about $10 per month and about £10 in the UK,that is for the cellular version of the watch, if you buy the GPS only version of the watch you can make calls and send texts as long as you have your phone with you,with the cellular version of the watch you can make calls and send texts without having your phone with you.So in reality your paying $10/£10 a month so that you can leave your phone at home.

You need an iPhone to pair with an Watch.
If you have a Watch GPS + Cellular model, you can use the Watch without activating the cellular radio.

If you want to activate the cellular radio, you need to contact your iPhone carrier and ask for phone number sharing (the Watch uses the same phone number as your iPhone). Monthly fees apply.
