My AirPod Case is charged but won’t turn on

My AirPod case won’t turn on or my airpods they only turn on when the case is plugged in to the charger, but when it’s charging it flashes a quick orange light, until I take the pods out and put them back in. And every time I take it off the charger I have to repeat the process again.
