Apple cellular watch sim

hi all, i have an iphone XR with Vodafone sim in the UK. if i buy a cellular apple watch, would i meed a separate sim or e-sim works on the watch? will i have to pay more to vidafone for this additional connectivity?

Vodaphone support the apple watch and it uses your phones number via an Esim built into the watch,for this you pay £10 per month on top of your monthly contract.
