Unable to view some movies purchased via iTunes on non-Apple devices

I am unable to view some movies that I have purchased via iTunes on devices that are not Apple devices. Specifically Scicario and The Godfather trilogy. I use apps like MyMovies or Prime Video that can access my digital purchases from iTunes, but said movies do not show up. I can see these purchases on iTunes, but it will not allow to me to cast to other non-Apple devices. Why is this?

No, I do not want to purchase another Apple TV and I'm not going to watch movies on my iPhone. I've had two Apple TVs and those things take a dump after a couple years. It's not worth spending the $100+ price tag each time. I'm sticking to my $20 Chromecast. I am wary of purchasing digtital content from iTunes in the future becasue of this.

I can see the movies on my Apple devices and they will play on my Apple devices. They will not populate on apps such as Amazon Prime or Movies Anywhere. These apps are linked to my Apple ID. I have purchased most of my movies via iTunes. Most of my movies show up on said apps. The ones that do not appear are the ones I purchased as a bundle; Sicario and The Godfather trilogy.

I want to watch these moves on my TV. I do not want to purchase another Apple TV to do so. I want to cast from my iPhone onto the Chromecast connected to my TV. I want to know how I can access the movies I purchased. I want the real answer as to why these don’t show up. I seriously doubt it’s the apps.

Hi joners007,

We understand you're not seeing some of the movies you expect on other services, after linking your Apple account.

If you don't see these movies on an Apple device either, the following pages may help:

Download previous iTunes purchases on PC

Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books

If the behavior is isolated to other services you watch films on, the support teams or support communities for those services will be in the best position to provide information.

Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to us joners007,

Movies Anywhere is a third party service, which allows you to browse and watch eligible movies from some motion picture companies, as described here: Connect your Apple ID to your Movies Anywhere account

If movies you're expecting to see, are not appearing there, we recommend connecting to the support for that service, who will be the most familiar with it, and the content that's eligible. You can connect with Movies Anywhere support by visiting help.moviesanywhere.com, dialing in and asking to speak with a Movies Anywhere representative at: 1-833-466-8438, using the Movies Anywhere contact form or by opening the Movies Anywhere app and tapping the Settings icon > Help Center > Contact Us.

Your Amazon account, connects to Movies Anywhere to deliver eligible content through that service.

We hope this helps!
