Erasing an old phone for return iphone 7

I followed the erase instructions and my iphone 7 went black then the apple icon appeared and then it went black again and shut down. I received an email that the 'find my' function is disabled. I went into iCloud and removed the device from my account. is it ready to return or do I need any other confirmation that the phone is erased?
