Apple Watch not properly tracking Walk exercises

My watch will not track my Indoor or Outdoor walks properly. I’ve read about it not tracking the Outdoor walk properly but that people found it would track the Indoor walk. I’m not having luck with either; getting rather annoyed my fitness tracker is not properly tracking my fitness. Are my other workouts being properly tracked? How do I fix the Walk glitch?

For instance, I walk an 18-19 minute mile and get 2 minutes of exercise for it using the Outdoor Walk. Today I used the indoor walk setting and I don’t think it tracked the distance properly (said my mile was 28 minutes) and I got 8 minutes of credit. I used the watch to tell me when I was at a half mile, as I went a different way, and then turned around. At the end, my “mile” walk was actually 1.12 miles.

In order for the watch to count what you are doing you must be walking at 3.3 mph or faster.

Your need to get your heart rate up.

Make sure your details (Age, weight, height, sex, etc) are properly set up in your health app.

If you are not liking the calibration you may always recalibrate the fitness calibration data.

From your iPhone>Watch>Privacy>Reset Fitness Calibration Data>

Once this is done go for an outdoor walk or run for at least 20 minutes on a flat surface at your normal pace using either the outdoor walk or outdoor run workout.
