Why am I getting an error every time I'm trying to download Big Sur?

Whenever I go to download Big Sur, I get an error message: "Installation Failed — An error occurred while installing the selected updates." I've tried connecting to new networks, deleting the files placed in /Library/Updates and have restarted my Mac more times than I can count. The System Status page says that the Mac Updates should be working correctly; yet, it is not for me. Does anyone else know what I need to do?

Apple's servers are overloaded. The status is green because they are up and running. Just overloaded as the entire world tries to download Big Sur at once.

You'll unfortunately have to keep trying.

I'm going through the same frustration.

It's not you or your computer.....
