Post iOS 14 issue
Since updating my iPad to iOS 14 I cannot send or receive non iMessages on my iPad. I’ve checked all the settings I can think of. Anyone else having this issue?

You must explicitly enable/verify that Text Message Forwarding is enabled for your iPad on your iPhone.
On your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.
Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
