I have a MacBook Pro (2010) running OS High Sierra. I tried to download Catalina but get a message that it cannot be downloaded on this computer. Is it just too old or are there other steps I must perform to enable it to upgrade to Catalina?

10.13 High Sierra is as far as that model of MacBook Pro can update. It cannot support Mojave or Catalina due to hardware limitations.
