When trying to upgrade from High Sierra ver 10.13.6 to Catalina, I was advised my computer is not upgradable.

Why is my IMAC not able to upgrade to Catalina? It is a Mac 27 in Mid 2011 with I5 and 16 GB of ram

Catalina can only be installed on 2012 or later iMacs. See compatibility section of How to upgrade to macOS Catalina - Apple Support

High Sierra is the last version supported on a 2011 iMac.
