Good Partition. Bad Mac HD

Currently I am using a partition on my MBP that works great except that the disk space is too small. I have a 1TB HD but the Mac HD side is 750GB while the the partition side is only 250GB. There are problems with Mac HD when I run disk utility first aid but not on the partition side. Both sides are now running Catalina. I have moved all of my documents, photos and other data into the cloud.

My questions are:

  1. Is there a way that I can reclaim the disk space from the partition side?
  2. If I can reclaim the disk space from the partition side what do I need to do about the disk issues on Mac HD? The Mac HD side works but is very slow.
  3. If I can’t reclaim from the partition side what is the best way for me to proceed?

Please let me know if there is any other info you need me to provide. Thank you for your looking at this for me.

Partition a physical disk in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Worse case you have to erase/reformat the parent drive from Interent Recovery (or other bootable soure: TM backup, bootable USBinstaller) >>Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices.

Reinstall the macOS and restore your user data from backup.
