Black screen of death

Hi! I’m using a MacBook Pro- my screen just went black while I was using it. I don’t know how to troubleshoot?


any ideas?

Please force your Mac to shut down by pressing and holding its power button / Touch ID button for about ten seconds.


Then, release the button and attempt to power it up again in the usual manner.


If the display is still black with no signs of life, proceed with:


If your Mac doesn't turn on


Read and follow each of it steps, all the way through and including Step 4, which directs you to:


If your Mac starts up to a blank screen


Read and follow each of it steps also, all the way through and including the end, which takes you to:


"If you still need help, please contact Apple Support."


That's all you can do.
