I wiped my macbook pro and reinstalled OS High Sierra. why did all of my desktop icons come back? I thought it would have a clean slate...

A screenshot of my desktop? The items I had previously saved to my desktop like a copy of my Resume' and other things just showed back up. AFTER the wipe was completed and OS High Sierra was reinstalled. How is that possible? Should I wipe it again? Strange

I think that's the problem. I must not have disabled icloud drive. But it appears that the desktop icons were the only things that came back. I'll try the wipe again and see what happens.

It should be like new if erased?

I did not migrate anything afterwards. I just reinstalled the OS and did nothing else.
Likely MJ has you covered.
