Desktop icons are gone after migrating to new Mac

Hi,

I just completed migrating my old Mac to my new Mac. Everything worked well, except that all my desktop icons are gone. Where are they, and how can I reinstall them?

Thanks for all your advice.

Mac mini, macOS 10.15
