Is it possible to recover hard drive data from a 2010 mac book pro with a damaged screen?

My dad handed me his old mac book pro from 2010 with a damaged screen. Is it possible to recover the data from the hard drive? He is particularly interested in any photos that may remain on the hard drive.

Sure if the drive is good—


simply remove the drive and put it into an external enclosure. Here you can mount the drive and access the data.
