Catalina and Music

With Catalina (and no iTunes) how will I import music from cds? I often buy cds directly from artists whose music is not in Apple Music library

Can I still import music from CDs into Apple Music? I am using iTunes and Mohave OS. When I upgrade to Catalina, iTunes will change to Apple Music. I have many CDs I still need to download into iTunes that are NOT available in Apple music subscription (they are old classical performances). I'm afraid to upgrade iTunes since I may lose the ability to download all my CDs. Is the a way around this?

Apple Music not importing my CDs I’m having real problems with importing CDs into my library. I tried upgrading from Mohave to Catalina to resolve the problem- it didn’t work. All suggestions most welcome.

CD music in iTunes I currently have several albums and songs that I've ripped into a digital format from CDs that I own so I can listen to them on my iPhone. I had read someplace that it would no longer be possible to access that type of playlist in Catalina and that only music purchased from the iTunes Store would be available. Is this true? If so, is there a work-around? Thanks.
