Factory-resetting my late father's iPad

I have inherited my late father's iPad (model MD529B/A) but don't have his icloud password or anythibg that will permit me to erase has data; I need to reset the iPad to its factory settings (i.e. "clean"). How do I do this?

unless you have his Apple ID and password, you cannot. If you have the purchase receipt, a death certificate and proof that it is your property, you can take it to Apple. Otherwise, you can recycle it.
