Unable to import mp4 video downloaded and viewable in Quick Time Player

I can view videos uploaded to my Quick Time Player folder in ICloud but am unable to import them into iMovie.

Problem downloading videos from icloud to use in imovie I have been working on a movie in imovie on my ipad. I have been using videos I downloaded from icloud. Everything was going great until yesterday, one of the picture in picture video overlays no longer works. The first frame of the video shows in the bar and the rest of the video is darkened. The video no longer shows up on top of my slide. This video was saved on icloud. Now, I cannot download other videos from icloud to use in imovie. I also cannot access the help feature document anymore. It seems I am having an icloud issue. Please advise. Thank you!

Imovie video uploading i am trying to upload videos from my external hard-drive onto imovie, so i can edit them, but they imovie wont let me select those files, it would say they are unable to upload. how can i fix that??

I can't import videos from iPhone to iMovie Only 4 of the many recent videos that I want to use (on my iPhone camera roll/library) are showing up on iMovie on my MacBook Air therefore I can't import them. The last photos/videos that are available for import are from 12 months ago in 2020 and then there are 4 of the recent videos that I want to use but not the rest? Could this be because of a lack of hard drive space on my Mac? Please advise, and thanks in advance.

I believe that you need to download the videos to your hard drive before importing into iMovie.
