Misleading ICloud info: lost my recent iPad 6th Gen photos 😱😰😥😡

My iCloud storage was full, so looked for solutions. Decided to delete some photos on my device

I OS assured me I could delete all my photos because they were safely backed up on iCloud

So I went ahead and deleted all

But when I looked for my recent photos they were gone!

After much panic, realised that of course, they were NOT backed up because the device was full.

I am devastated and furious

i bought this device to have failsafe fun on my holiday. I did not expect to spend hours troubleshooting and having to learn to think like a software engineer!

Is there any way of retrieving the photos?

Please, read the part Backup your photos and videos in this link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204264

Also, open Photos and click on Recently deleted. You can restore them for 30 days
