Mail preview notifications on Apple Watch

My mail notifications on Apple Watch suddenly started to say, "This message has no content." If I open the mail app itself, I can read the whole message (so it's there), but when the notification comes up that mail has been received, I get only the error message that there is "no content." The notifications used to work fine until about two weeks ago. Is there any fix for this problem?
