What is this website for? Is it even part of Apple?

Does Apple ever check this website or answer questions here? For years whenever there has been a problem with my phone I will Google the issue, I’m usually brought here where similar questions are asked about the same issue. In all of these years, I have never once noticed any interaction, help or response from Apple here. Typically, I will see someone asking a question about the same issue I have, a few people will chime in saying they have the same issue and that it is bothering them. And then Apple will close the thread: no response, no help issued. So I guess my question is does anyone have a memory of Apple ever having helped them here?

Threads are closed when they have become too old and there is no longer any participation by the OP who had asked a question. Also many times the question is no longer relevant with changes that had been made in updates. You will find posts here that go back more than 10 years where it would make no sense to comment on a post looking for help. It is not unusual for Google to suggest links to these older posts and direct you to one where you cannot even provide a comment. If you have a question it is recommended to provide a new post if you are unable to resolve an issue with the information that has been previously provided.

This is s Support Site where you will not see Apple provide any information to you, and is instead a location where other users can provide assistance. Many times that will also include links to the information that Apple does provide in the form of Support Articles and may be helpful. It is not required to use this site and you can certainly contact Apple directly using the link below. Many times that will also be suggested as we have no access to any account related information where if that is needed we cannot help at all.

Contact Apple Support - Apple Support

When looking to provide a suggestion or feature improvement you will also see us provide a link to send Feedback to Apple directly where it will be read as they will not see your post here:

Product Feedback - Apple

On the other hand, you will also see where many users had an issue resolved by the information that has been provided here, so for those this has been a valuable resource.
