iPad 11th gen won’t detect 5GHz Wi-Fi networks, only 2.4GHz appears
Hey everyone,
I just bought a brand new iPad 11th Gen (model A16), and it’s not detecting any 5GHz Wi-Fi networks—only 2.4GHz shows up. Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Resetting the iPad (multiple times)
- Forgetting/rejoining Wi-Fi
- Resetting network settings
- Tried different routers (still no 5GHz)
- Checked on other devices (my phone connects to 5GHz just fine)
- Talked to Apple Support—they didn’t find any hardware issues
It connects to 5GHz only sometimes after a reboot, but once I turn Wi-Fi off and on again, it disappears. It feels like a bug or hardware defect, but I’m not sure.
Anyone else having this issue? Is it a known problem with this model? Would really appreciate any help or confirmation so I know if I should go for a replacement.
Thanks!
