how to back up itunes if my computer goes down?

I understand my iTunes music is not backed up to the iCloud. How do I protect my music purchases if my computer goes down? Would it automatically load onto my new computer? Also, if my computer goes down, does my iTunes stay on my iPod, and iPad?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

1. Copy it to an external drive; this can be done manually, or through Time Machine, or a non-Apple backup product.

2. If you use Time Machine or create a clone, you'll be given the option to migrate from the backup when setting up a new Mac; otherwise, it'd need to be done manually.

3. Yes, but they're not intended for holding backups.
