How to save the width of the effects browser in Final Cut Pro?

I had to recently reset my FCP custom settings so now I am trying to get everything back to the way it was. For some reason when I save my workspace, it seems to not save the width of the effect browser which is a pain in the butt. I don't know if any of you experienced this, but trying to find the edge of the effect browser to drag out to make it wider is an extreme challenge. Am I doing something wrong? It always stayed the same with before the reset.

  1. Adjust the width of the effects browser.
  2. Update the workspace.
  3. Quit FCP with option+⌘Q.
  4. Launch FCP. The adjusted workspace will be displayed.

I was able to reproduce fox_m's suggestion correctly.

You should be able to "hover" the mouse over the borders of the browsers until the cursor changes to the vertical bar w/opposing arrows, then click and drag to resize the browsers/inspectors. As Ben suggestion, this can be difficult to do easily...

When you set up your window with the browser sizes you want available when you start up, then hold down the Option key and select Quit and Keep Windows from the Final Cut Pro menu (or type Command-Option Q)... (This may or may not work... but it seems to work most of the time for me.)
