Will I lose my fitness data while changing the battery of Apple Watch?

I have a decent continuing Daily Move goal, Daily Stand Goal, etc. and need a new watch battery.

Will I loose my accrued goals while battery is being exchanged...?

Any tricks to prevent this ?

No fair !

Any help on this is appreciated...

Hi 1Piper,

No, when you replace the battery in your Apple Watch, you won't lose your fitness data. Instead of being kept on the watch itself, the fitness data is synced with iCloud and stored on the paired iPhone. You will probably unpair the watch from your phone when you change the battery, but your fitness data shouldn't be lost if you restore from a backup or set it up as new.

This is the reason:

The Health app on your paired iPhone and your Apple Watch sync fitness and health data, such as activity rings, workout details, and awards.

iCloud backup:

Additionally, this data is backed up to iCloud, so it will be protected whether you restore your old Apple Watch or get a new one.

Maybe you should check whether everything is activated in the icloud settings before the exchange.

I hope this has helped you

Best regards

Chris
