macOS Bin in Catalina Refuses to Empty

I can't even empty the bin now. What it's doing is giving me this error message, claiming "another task" is emptying it, when nothing is:

No matter which button I press it'll make the emptying bin sound but all my files will still be there. This is a problem because this is on a MacBook Air from 2014 that only has 128GB of storage.

Problem emptying the bin on my Macbook Air M1 Everytime I try to empty the bin on my new Macbook Air M1, it is so slow. It takes hours!!!! It is loaded with Ventura 13.0 Really hoping that Apple will fix this bug as I need to restart machine to delete file. Any thoughts??

Emptying the trash bin takes forever, even for small files! The screen for emptying the trash bin is stuck with a "Deleting" message and active progress bar, taking forever and not closing. The file size is small and is not "locked". One temporary fix I found is to press the "x" button, which normally cancels the emptying process. However, in my case, the trash gets emptied whenever I do that. I am using Mac OS 13.1 on a MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip and the device has plenty of free space on the hard drive. What can be done to resolve this issue? Try rebooting the computer & try emptying the Trash again.

Try booting into Safe Mode to empty the Trash.
