Messages has been crashing at launch on MacOS Sequoia 15.5. I've rebooted my Mac several times. As soon as I launch Messages it displays the Messages window and then crashes with the perpetually spinning disc. I cannot sign out of Messages or do anything within the app becomes it become completely unresponsive. I'm forced to use Force Quit to exit the app.
How can I fix this issue?

DeRochier - Thx! That worked. The only difference in our situations is that I had sent the GIF.
I was able to resolve the issue. A contact had sent me a GIF and for some reason it was causing the crash. Every time I launched Messages, it would default to the message with the GIF even though it wasn't the most recent message. On my iPhone, I turned on "Message in iCloud," then I deleted the message with the GIF on my iPhone. When I re-launched the Messages app on my Mac, the message was gone and Messages has not been crashing.
