Hi,

Try putting one of the green photos on your desktop and "save as" a png file. Then import into iMovie as see if the photo displays correctly.

You can also try placing one of the green photos into a newly created iMovie project.

Failing either of the above, try deleting preferences by opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new blank library. Reopen your original library to get back to your projects. Now see if the green display issue is corrected.

thanks Rich, it has worked to some degree by changing to PNG. However although it now plays within iMovie I can't export it now, it gives failed to export error saying it can't render at points within the file where I change the photo from jpeg to png....previous version did export but on playback in within QuickTime had some green sections within the exported file, which were not green in iMovie!!.

Hmmmm. there must be a conflict some place. I assume that you tried using a new project and deleting preferences without success. If you haven't done that give it a try.

As a test, you could try saving one of the green photos as a TIFF file and see if that cures it.

A redownload and update of iMovie might also do it.

If everything else fails, as a workaround you could save the photos as video clips. For example, put one of the green photos into your Mac Photos app. Create a slideshow project and put the photo into it. Then export the one-photo slide show to your desktop as a video clip that you can then import into your iMovie project. Actually, you could make a Photos app project using all or some of your photos, then export it to your desktop and import it into your iMovie project. You can vary the display time by varying the speed.

Forgive me,I was preparing this imovie for my mothers funeral which has now taken place. Really didn't hv all that much time to play around w it..however

Effectively i kept trying to export the file and waited for the error file which would indicate the time slot that would not render..id go back to the imovie and replace the photo at that point w a new file, jpeg or png and try to export again. Fortunately after multiple attempts I could get to finally export the imovie but this now had a green section within! I had to snip that out w Adobe Express...or should I say a friend if mine did. Fortunately it was just a few frames so it did not effect the audio noticeably.

I am not exactly sure if it was the size and or type of photo file as the exported file was +2 GB and it contained 150 photos up to 50MB, 3 audio tracks max 4 MB, 1 video clip MB ...

Appreciate your help and suggestions a combination of which got me through the day. Now I have more time I may well try again to get to an end point w good quality photos within. Cheers
