On Garageband during playback, the sound disappears in several fragments of the recording.

A very strange story is happening with the work of GB. During playback, the sound disappears in several fragments of the recording. I currently have: Mac mini M4, UAD Volt 176 and Mac OS Sequoia 15.1 Nothing like this happens when working on an old Macbook 13 2016 and iMac 2012. I'm upset. Because the mini was bought for exactly these purposes. I have already rebooted GB and turned on/off the Mac mini from the network. Nothing helps.

Do you have any opinions about what is happening?

I'm sorry I don't have a solution yet, but I have the same problem and hope that by adding more details to my similar experience, we can figure out a solution/catch someone's eye

  • my 2019 Macbook pro never had this issue, my 2024 macbook pro is where this is happening.
  • I just got a new microphone to hopefully fix this issue-it did not. So it doesn't seem to matter what the input device is.
  • It's happening on my iphone 16 also (voice memos)
  • It cuts in and out almost like static and muting you would get in plug in headphones when you rotate the audio jack-plug
  • It cannot handle a singing voice, even straight tone, but speaking seems to be no problem.
  • I am convinced this is software designed to filter out "noise" not recognizing a singing voice. But I'm a bit cynical.
