Depth app on Apple Watch Ultra 2 not starting time counter when submerged

Once watch is submerged the watch it automatically shows the depth and the temperature correctly but the duration/time under water never starts.

Auto-Launch is enabled with When Suberged set to Selected App, Depth app selected and Threshold when submerged set to Immediately.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Depth app but sadly that didn't work. I have not tried a setting up the watch as new to see if the previous backup that was restored might be causing the issue.
